Why I'm Hosting My First Live Event in Six Years

As I prepare to host my first live event in more than six years tomorrow, I've found myself reflecting on something I've learned from helping hundreds of people navigate career change.
The most powerful catalyst for change is being surrounded by people who understand your journey.
For the past six years, I've run my coaching programmes and workshops solely online and in many ways, it's been incredible. I've worked with clients from all over New Zealand and around the world—from London and Singapore to Rhode Island, Santiago, Trinidad and Tobago, and beyond. People who may never have been able to access my support if I'd only worked in person.
And one of the things I'm proudest of is the community that has emerged. Because career change can be lonely.
When it feels like you're the only person in your workplace who is questioning whether you're in the right career.
When your friends can't understand why you'd leave a perfectly good job.
When you're carrying around a quiet feeling that there must be something more—but you don't know what it is yet.
It can feel incredibly isolating.
That's why one of the most surprising things I've witnessed over the years is the impact of community. Many people join my programme thinking they simply need clarity. What they often discover is that they also need other people walking alongside them.
People who understand the fear and uncertainty that comes with making a career change. People who understand what it feels like to ask: "What do I really want?"
The online community we've built is something I'm incredibly proud of. Every week I see people encouraging one another, sharing insights, celebrating progress and reminding each other they're not alone.
Yet there's something uniquely powerful about gathering in person. Being in the room together creates a different kind of connection. The conversations between activities, the stories shared over coffee, the spontaneous discussions, the collective energy, and the moments of insight that simply can't be replicated through a screen.
That's what sparked the idea for Pathfinder LIVE. I found myself wondering what might happen when this community stepped out from behind their screens and gathered together face-to-face. What new possibilities might emerge when people who share a common desire for more meaningful work came together in the same room?
I'm someone who comes alive around people. Some of my favourite years were spent working at the University of Auckland, helping students and grads navigate career decisions face-to-face.
Which is why I'm so excited about Friday.
We have an incredible group of past and present Pathfinders coming together from around New Zealand—people who have been brave enough to question what's next, explore new possibilities, and start creating work that feels more meaningful and fulfilling.
But what excites me most isn't the workshop itself. It's the network.
Because in today's world, opportunities don't just come from job boards. They come through conversations, relationships, connections. Ideas shared over coffee, introductions, people helping people.
And that's something I've realised is becoming an increasingly important part of what I offer.
When you join my world, you become part of a network of thoughtful, courageous women who are navigating their own path toward more meaningful work. They're asking many of the same questions you might be asking: What do I really want? What am I here to contribute? What does this next chapter look like? There is something incredibly reassuring about travelling alongside others who understand the journey.
And perhaps that's how we've always done it. Women gathering together, sharing wisdom, supporting one another, helping each other find the way forward.
If you're a mid-career woman who knows there's another chapter waiting for you, if your children are becoming more independent and you're beginning to ask what's next for you, if you're craving work that feels more meaningful, purposeful and aligned with who you are now, I've just opened the priority list for the next intake of Become Your Own Pathfinder, which begins in July.
When you join the Priority List, you'll be first in line when doors open, receive early access, exclusive bonuses available only to Priority List members, and learn more about how the programme can help you find work that feels meaningful, fulfilling and aligned with who you are.
Because career change is easier when you don't have to figure it out alone.
