Featured in RNZ: How to spot (and stop) invisible work at the office

I was recently quoted in an RNZ article about invisible tasks at work - those behind-the-scenes jobs that don't usually lead to promotions or recognition, yet somehow end up on the same people's plates (often women).
It's a timely reminder that career satisfaction isn't just about the role we're in - it's also about the boundaries we set and the habits we bring with us.
One of my clients in my career change program recently asked a confronting question:
“Is it really the job… or is it me?”
Ouch, right? But it's worth sitting with. She realised she was pouring everything into work and leaving nothing for herself. No wonder she felt so drained.
Because here's the thing: if we don't address our patterns, we risk leaping into a new role only to find ourselves stuck in the same cycle.
In this short clip, I share a simple experiment to help you figure out whether it's your job - or your approach - that needs to shift. Plus, I give you some practical phrases you can use to set boundaries at work.
Navigating your career often means doing the inner work as much as the outer work. This is one of those moments.
